Let's Get Social

Quality Beats Quantity! - Sarah George

As a business owner do you have to be on social media? Yes you really should be, but you don't have to dance on TikTok.

Just like the yellow pages in the phone book and calling on clients used to be, social media is an outlet for telling others you are in business. Luckily it's more dynamic to where you can actually SHOW and TELL others how your business helps. Social media is a place to find and nurture new clients.

First things first - do not be on every social media platform. Take note of who your ideal client is and where they hang out. If you don't know that information consider investing in Know Your Who a research-based service I offer that discovers the traits and desires of your ideal client so you don't waste time and money on people who'll never buy. When you know your who, you can focus on the right socials and content.

One client I worked with discovered their ideal client is more solution aware than problem aware. This means instead of content educating on the fact that there is a problem, content should focus on their business being the solution. Testimonials, case studies, reviews are fitting here.

Secondly, quality beats quantity. You are positioning you and your business as the expert. Demonstrate that through your posts. You don't have to show up just because, you show up because you have quality information that will educate, entertain, and/or engage.

Quality posts will also weed out prospects who are NOT your ideal client. This is part of the courting stage where people may or may not want the service you provide. And your quality posts will only move compatible clients forward. Save yourself the time of sifting through the masses and focus in on what matters to your ideal clients.

Finally, social shows personality. Let your audience get to know you and your business behind the scenes. The more you show your human side, the more you strengthen your know, like, and trust factor. Be true to your brand voice while sharing a more raw side. And be social! Tag collaborators and clients when appropriate as well as leave comments.

Conclusion: Social media may seem overwhelming; the truth is a thought out plan makes it much more attainable. Social media is an effective tool but you need to know how to use it and be ready to adjust as it does. Just like you don't have an ad in the yellow pages any more, the strategy remains but the tactics shift. If you really want to Know Your Who™ , jump on a call with me and we'll get started.
