“You're good at referrals. I want to help make the rest of your marketing easy too.”

Watch the video here or if you are a reader, keep scrolling.

Referrals have gotten you to where you are today (that's a good thing!) Eventually, you'll run out of your own personal network. Then what? You can take your referral success to other areas of your marketing.

How to Capitalize on Your Referrals

I know you're good at referrals; I want to make the rest of marketing just as easy for you, too. Have you set up a referral reach out program quarterly? Get ideas in the Referrals Recharge Your Marketing Guide.

Do you have a "nice emails" folder in your inbox filled with kind words and testimonials (this makes for easy marketing folder, because you can always talk about this great client you helped with certain problem, and–oh look–here's a testimonial from them!).

Using Networking Principles In Marketing

Nail your messaging, just like you nailed your elevator pitch in your business networking group. How you say what you do impacts people remembering what you do.

Be a Go-Giver! They sell more; even if you haven't read the book, you probably know the principal that you catch more flies with honey.

Remember the know, like and trust factor: people are more likely to give business and refer business to those they know, like and trust. Build relationships into your marketing efforts.

Community Outreach That Builds on Referral Marketing

When you reach out to check in with referrals, check in on case study possibilities - much like the testimonial suggestion.

Remind your audience that people help people; showcase something you're doing in the community (especially if it is a cause/opportunity you became aware of through a referral relationship).

Conclusion: Referrals are the backbone of any local business, but they're not the only way to market. You can use them as a springboard for all sorts of marketing activities that give the same ease as building referrals.
